NAME: Elizabeth “Liz” Lockhart CODE NAME: Tango AGE: Nineteen SEX: Female POSITION: Active FACE CLAIM: Keira Knightley CANON OR ORIGINAL: Original
APPEARANCE: Tango is a beautiful young woman who stands at about 5’7”. Her hair is a wavy, light brown, matching the color of her eyes. She doesn’t really have any distinguishing features aside from a scar on her left temple which is covered by her hair. She has a pale complexion, although she doesn’t look sickly, and she has a very simple style when it comes to fashion, sticking mostly to neutral colors and simple designs.
PERSONALITY: Before she became an Active, Elizabeth was always a very stubborn and confident girl; whenever she put her mind to something, she’d always accomplish it, no matter how hard it was or if she put herself in danger to do so. Elizabeth was always witty and always had something to say, and to some she came off as an arrogant bitch, but she wasn’t really. She was actually a really nice person who hated violence and had a soft spot for children, but she put on a façade to protect herself.
Ever since Elizabeth became Tango, she may have lost some of her traits, but she’s still as stubborn as ever and she’s still very caring; now she doesn’t need her façade to keep others at arms length, so she’s a lot more open to people and friendships and can even be encouraging at times.

HISTORY: Elizabeth, or Liz by those who know her well, was born into the wealthy and prominent Lockhart family. Her father was a diplomat and her mother was a human rights activist who traveled the world. As a child, Elizabeth’s parents were always away on business, but she still loved them deeply and never blamed them for their absence. After all, she had her older brother, Alex, to keep her company; her and Alex were best friends and quite inseparable, and they confided in each other a lot.
Everything changed when Elizabeth was nine years old; she was returning from France with her mother, father, and Alex, and when their plane landed, the family took their usual limo home. Only it never got there. A large truck collided with their limo, crushing it and sending it spinning. Her mother and father were killed, but Alex and Elizabeth survived. Elizabeth spent several weeks in the hospital with head trauma, but she eventually pulled through with no memory of the accident and only a scar to show for it.
From that point on, the two children were shuffled from private school-to-private school to earn an elite education and while things were hard, she still had her brother to depend on and protect her. When Elizabeth turned sixteen, she began to wonder about the death of her parents and with Alex, the two looked into it; it turned out that the truck colliding with their limo was no accident, and that it was really an assassination attempt to take out the entire family. Both Elizabeth and Alex were shocked, and the young girl vowed that she’d bring her parents killers to justice.
After graduating at seventeen, instead of going to university and earning a degree like everyone had expected her to do, Elizabeth decided to head to Europe; she tracked her parents’ killers down to a faction which dealt in illegal activity, from weapons sales to prostitution, drug trafficking to terrorist attacks. Along with her brother, she infiltrated the organization, all in the hopes of getting close to the ringleader. Of course, she wasn’t a fool; Elizabeth knew that they wouldn’t be able to bring the murderers to justice on their own, so their plan was to obtain as much incriminating information as they could and then present it to the authorities so justice could be served.
Everything seemed to be going according to plan; both Alex and Elizabeth had infiltrated the organization without suspicion and by this time, she was eighteen years old. The deeper she got, the more she began to learn and the more she learned, the more she realized that bring her parents’ murders down was going to be a lot harder and a lot more lengthy than she originally thought. She had no problem, though. She knew if they stood their ground and waited, their time would eventually come.
Things went to hell during Elizabeth’s first major assignment. She was sent deliver three million dollars worth of cocaine to a buyer; it was to prove her trust to the organization, and because she was so young and considered expendable to the organization. During the operation, it turned out that the potential buyer didn’t intend to buy at all. In fact, a team ambushed the trade and Elizabeth found herself captured by a man named Ricardo del Torres and his associates.
She was held prisoner for three months where she endured hell; she was beaten, raped, tortured, but they never killed her, like she assumed that they would. It wasn’t until the United States government intervened, busting one of del Torres’ “safe houses,” where she was being held prisoner. Elizabeth returned back home and was reunited with her brother, deciding to put her risky life behind her since the memories of her time as a prisoner plagued her, torturing her emotionally.
One day, Elizabeth was confronted by a group of men who claimed that they could help her. Intrigued, they brought her to Adelle DeWitt, the supervisor of the Dollhouse. She informed Elizabeth of the Dollhouse’s activities and presented her with the opportunity to help make a difference and change the world as Doll, or Active. Elizabeth was hesitant at first since she didn’t want to forget her brother and her parents, but she ultimately decided that it was the best thing to do and it was a lot easier than coping with the pain. Elizabeth signed on for five years and is one of the Dollhouse’s newest additions.
